Katie and Janson

This wedding day was a highlight of my 2022 season. Katie and Janson’s day was unique, intentional, and special in every way. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Octagon Barn in Spring Green, Wisconsin which is definitely a new favorite venue of mine! The venue was perfect for their laid back day & the barn has so much character that added to the day. The wedding party all chose their own outfits based on the overall vibe of the day and I just could not get over how well they all complimented each other.Katie’s wore an insanely cool dress from Temperley London and she definitely wins most show stopping dress! Jan and his dudes wore some pretty cool vans too.

Another favorite part of the day was the diy decor. Jan and Katie are both insanely talented artists and surrounded by some pretty cool artists too. From the felt cake topper & paper lanterns to the “just married” lettering on Jan’s car…everywhere I turned I was in awe. They even propagated their house plants and made hand-thrown vases for table centerpieces (and let me take one home!). The most special thing was the fact that Jan (with help and support from Katie!) painted a giant mural at their venue…SO cool.

Food was provided via El Grito and Soho food trucks based out of Madison and guests were able to grab a drink or bite to eat when they felt ready. This helped to create a more relaxed environment and prevented long lines at the food trucks!

I couldn’t be more grateful to Katie and Jan for being so amazing to work with & giving me the opportunity to capture their insanely special day. They are seriously some of the best people I’ve met!
